candice-loveLisa Scott absolutely grasps the essence of narcissism. As I read her book I was continually amazed how she was able to take this very complicated psychological construct and distill it down to its fundamental nature - illustrating it in a way that was easy to understand. She provides a practical and hopeful approach for any woman dealing with this type of man.

by Anita Finley We have probably all met men and women who would fit into the category of being a narcissist, but since theremust be degrees of this personality disorder, unless we were married to one, we just shrug our shoulders and go do something else. After reading this very powerful book, I began interviewing my female friends and asking them about their opinion and experience with narcissists. It varied and after I read some passages to them from the book, there were nods and rolling of eyes. It is a very good topic and one that singles looking for a match should consider. As the author, Lisa Scott shared, "Identify and avoid the narcissist, before you get hurt." And that goes for both sexes. I was fascinated by the cover which portrays in caricature that gorgeous guy being idolized by a loving, beautiful woman. In essence, his glamorous facial expression is only what he wants you to see and know about him. The rest lies below the surface. The book contains an engaging collection of personal anecdotes combined with the latest scholarly research. Lisa Scott examines the typical traits of pathological narcissism. Clear examples from her own experiences help Lisa explain how a narcissist is dependent on a significant other to provide him the praise and attention he craves. I believe that Lisa Scott wrote this book to help others not make the mistakes that unfortunately she has made with some of the men in her life. Of course that's easier said than taken seriously. It is typical for people to always believe who they love would never do such things and are far from narcissistic. Remember, that this book will help you prevent the heartache that comes from falling in love with a narcissist.

One of the best relationship guides to appear this year is IT'S ALL ABOUT HIM: HOW TO IDENTIFY AND AVOID THE NARCISSIST MALE BEFORE YOU GET HURT. Author Lisa Scott's examples come from experience - and solidly identify the personality traits and approaches of the narcissistic male, who requires excessive attention and admiration and believes that he's unique while being devoid of empathy. An outstanding survey, and a highly recommended pick for any lending library.
